Personality: Playful but dignified, his laughter is soft but sweet. He leaves the castle frequently to goof off, much to the ire of his attendants and many of the parliamentary officials. Prince Elkeid is an outgoing, inquisitive boy who loves to play with the world. He can become occupied and excited by the smallest of things and shows it every time. Beneath his playful exterior, however, is a mature soul who has lived for many years. If there are duties that he must accomplish, he will fulfill them to the best of his abilities. Anyone who accuses him of being too childish for a prince immediately takes it back once they see his firmness and his devotion to Elpis. Above all, he yearns to help his country. However, there’s a small part of him that wishes for a world where he could have grown up normally into adulthood and spent his days with the family and friends he loved…

History: Many generations ago, Elkeid was the firstborn son to the reigning queen and king of Elpis. His tutors noticed his bright mind and urged him to read and study the many tomes they offered. During his earlier youth, he took on a scholarly appetite for knowledge and appeared to have a limitless capacity for learning. Those around him would say he was a prodigy. He was always serious, but always kind and smiling. (Only later on, after he became a gijinka, did he start acting like a child.) Before the Arcean Division, he’d always visit the sister kingdom Persephoneia to see his close friends Arran, Prince Castor, and Caine. However, once the seven year war started, he was no longer able to see them until they met on the battlefield years later.

Elpis was facing severe causalities due to a smaller military and overall smaller country and feared they would be annihilated. So the scholars, along with Elkeid, traversed to the Tree of Beginning within their kingdom’s forest where it was rumored that the guardian beast of Elpis—Mew—resided. They went there to plead to the guardian beast to use its powers to save their country and protect them from the war. At the base of the tree, Elkeid felt the pull of a calling voice, and left the scholars in search of Mew by himself. Mew knew he was coming and already knew the country’s plight. It waited for the prince himself since he needed to bond with one of a pure heart and in a position of influential power. Only this way, Mew thought, it could truly help the country.

Elkeid loved his country and wanted to help it at all costs, so he agreed to bond, and returned to the scholars fused with Mew. He spoke with his parents about peace, but when they talked to the opposing kingdom, both kingdoms eventually became vicious and Persephoneia refused, even though they knew a guardian beast with extremely destructive power had bonded with someone in Elpis' royal court. So Elkeid’s parents urged him to use his powers to protect his country--which also meant hurting the people of his friends' kingdom. He hated the idea, but knew what he had to do for the sake of his kingdom. Once Elkeid personally entered the battlefield, Persephoneia was on its knees until Arran and Prince Castor fused with Articuno and Jirachi respectively. Eventually, peace was achieved to prevent further destruction and the Treaty of Narcissus was formed.

Up to the present day, Elkeid has been helping push the country to have more of a democratic monarchy with a parliament at its core. He tries not to get directly involved too much unless there’s an issue important enough for him to act on. This allows him to travel around more with his loyal knight Albhe and act as an ambassadorial figurehead to upkeep peaceful relations with other countries, as the parliament usually takes care of itself when deciding on laws and other day to day matters.

Sometimes, he daydreams about the life he could’ve had. When he was still a human, he had an arranged engagement with a beautiful girl from a noble family who he had spent his childhood with. After his bonding with Mew, he stopped aging while his friend and fiancé became a woman. Even though it broke his heart, he didn’t want to force her to wed a child. So, he let her go, and sat on the throne as he watched her life from afar. Eventually the years caught on and she died of old age—along with many of the people he knew. This caused Elkeid to become more withdrawn with his real self and to instead exude a more playful exterior.

Additional Info:
*Elkeid actually has the ability to float in mid-air with his psychic power, but the only time he has been seen doing so was during the war. He deems it unnecessary unless it’s an emergency.

*He tends to have a very polite form of speech. xD

*Elkeid loves and respects his loyal knight, Albhe. She is a very capable woman that he wholeheartedly trusts. If some kind of harm is inflicted upon her, be aware that you will have this Prince's wrath upon you.

*Besides his friends in Persophenaia, Elkeid likes visiting Vir in Pandemoria and Adelaide and Aiden/Paki in Cydonia. Elkeid tends to get involved in mischief when it involves his good friend Paki. XD

*MamatinaAdelaide reminds him of his departed fiancé. ;-; She doesn’t know, but he has seen her before she became a gijinka, and recommended her to a certain legendary… As of now, he treats her like she's his mother.

*He's also an empath, but he doesn't choose to manipulate others' feelings. That being said, when there's someone extremely sad around him, it really upsets him...
